Kugatachi

Kugatachi
   Or kugatachi-shiki. Hot-water ordeal. An ascetic practice of heat-pacification (see Chinka-shiki) used in some Shinto sects which consists in the priest dipping bamboo fronds into boiling water and sprinkling it repeatedly over the practitioner.
