Oyomei
   Japanese pronunciation of Wang, Yang-ming (1472-1529), the Chinese Neo-Confucian philosopher whose ideas on the unity of action and knowledge have, like those of Shushi (Chu Hsi), exercised substantial influence in many areas of Japanese political, social and especially ethical life from the Tokugawa period onwards.
